Random tidbit:
During the early Middle Ages, Celtic Christians celebrated Easter on a different date than the one endorsed by Rome. The Celts at that time were actually somewhat better educated than the Italians, and claimed they had a better understanding of the original Greek texts on which the Christian calendar was based. So in 664, the two sides held a meeting to settle the matter once and for all.
The Celtic delegate addressed the crowd first, explaining very convincingly why his date of Easter was correct. When it was the Roman delegate’s turn to speak, he did not address the issue of Easter at all. Instead, he told the story of how God entrusted Saint Peter (who was heavily associated with the city of Rome) with the keys to Heaven.
Guess who won the argument?
To all Christians out there, and all trumpet players and chocolate lovers too, Happy Easter! |

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. |
