I love my name. It will never be changed. And now I have my precious signature and avatar back... my preciouss! Cobra, this was a good idea. But how do you get to the shop from... Oh, wait. I see the link at the top right of the screen...  Like Felipe said, though, don’t make store credit something you can buy. Spammers would go crazy. But upgrades to avatars and signatures would be nice. Don’t take out all the smiley’s, leave some, but the animated ones coul be bought in packages. Great ideas, Felipe! |

| Store credit will probably NOT be on the menu. I’d rather keep the whole thing "just for fun," so that people are playing with the shop toys rather than hoarding GP, donations are flowing freely, and so on. |

| Um, moderators should not get extra crap just because they think that they are better. And Cobra, how about along with store credit for monthly article winners, hows we give em 10 GP as well? |

Community members can give or trade GP anyway they want to. Pay a friend to proofread your article. Set up a fantasy sports pool. Hold a contest (or a tournament!) with GP as prizes. The only thing I can think of that would NOT be allowed is paying for Article Contest votes; that would be dealt with the same way as any other sort of contest abuse.
If you want to set up your own contest with an entry fee, the way to do it would be to have participants donate X amount of gold to you and put "contest entry fee" or something in the message box. When someone donates to you and includes a message, you’re notified by PM of that event.

The bonus for moderators that someone suggested is not a matter of elitism at all. It’s simply that GP are given for significant contributions to the forums, and moderators make a lot of significant contributions that other users can’t. Anyway, it’s a moot point because at this time that’s not on the menu.
A bit of extra GP for article contest winners is definitely a possibility, though. |
