I think that a default "allowance" like this is kind of defeating the purpose of GP. The point of GP is that the more you contribute to the site, the more you get out of it! So it doesn’t make sense that someone who might sign on today and not have any activity for a year to earn by sheer existance on the site what others have to work for. I know everyone would get this allowance, but it still de-values the GP that other people have. Economics 101, you DO have a use! I think the current system captures the "rewarding good posts" aspect in an elegant and efficient way, but it does have kinks in it. I think that when we decide to make suggestions, we should keep this ultimate goal in mind. For instance, merely spending time on the site wouldn’t fit properly, but maybe re-instating the GP for high word count? I think it’s a nice touch, since people can post one or two really quality posts that contribute a lot, and get rewarded for it even though they might not be able to contribute as much quantity as others.
Cobra, you’ve been oddly quiet in this discussion. Howabout your thoughts on the suggestions posed here? You could help put us on the right track, or just set us straight that you’re not interested in major changes right now |

It would take 10 days before you got your dp/avy, 75 more for avy upgrade, or 25 for flight, or 500 for name change...
1/day isn’t that much really. Maybe it could be made to be 1 every day you logged on.
But still, ppl who contribute will still get lots more gold quicker, but nobody will be left out in the long run. |

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. |

I do agree that something need to be done so lesser known people can get GP. I really would like to see the 500 character post = GP back.
After all if you make a post that long you should contribute something.
HOWEVER I think it should not apply to the Dream Card thread since that would be too easy to rack up GP |

| It starts with the users, post decks, and say that if someone gives them very helpful advise, they’ll give them a coin. I think the $1/1 coin thing is good, although, maybe more like $3/3 coins, It would incorage more people on this site to buy cards here too. |

| $1 = 1 coin?? No, that’s waaay too much. Cobra would go out of business quick. I don’t agree with this whole GP for Store Credit. $70 is already a lot. |
