Dang. My suspicion was entirely pointless. As SoP and Lurtzy both pointed out... AC has already been arrested.
For the riddle: Best I can figure is an airplane, but that’s not right. |

Got it! I think....
I broke the statements in the riddle down into parts...and got a little lucky.
1.) The first thing that hit me with the first statement is "last straw". I just kept hinging on that even though it didn’t make sense at first with the other statements. But I think it works. These will be in the order I matched them up....
3.) Anyone who draws the SHORT straw is put to work. Works well enough.
4.) Straw breaks easily, whether actual straw or the suck-through-it variety. I know...I broke many in many childhood and cursed the lack of proper suction afterwards.
5.) Defy gravity? Again, in thinking about suction created by straws...well, that’s defying gravity, ain’t it?
And finally, the kicker....
2.) "Yet the man in me is too weak to argue". How the heck does THAT match up with straws?
On a hunch, I did a simple Google search for "straw argue". Brought up a lot of links related to a "straw man argument", so I looked THAT up and found this: "To "set up a straw man" or "set up a straw man argument" is to describe a position that superficially resembles an opponent’s actual view but is easier to refute...." AKA a weak argument.
I think we have a winner here, gentlemen. Kind of a straw man argument (ha!) with some of the lines, I admit, but it DOES work across the board.
So, my guess (and my advice to the sweltering AP) would be straw. What do you all think? |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Incog has misspelled the proper noun: It should be "Hashashin," referring to the Islamic sect, not "Assassin."
And "highy talented child of unknown origins..." A prodigy. An anonymous one.
I protect AP.
Edit: This clue’s given me a hunch as to who this Hashashin might be. Dain and SoP, see if you think I’m way off base, but I’ve Pm’ed you some stuff.
It’s actually Hassassin |

Anonymous Prodigy was melting under the pressure of his riddle, when all the sudden there was a pounding on his cell door. Officer DainIronfoot started screaming, "It’s the straw AP! Get the straw out of the glass and use it to short out the thermostat." AP quickly grabbed the straw and used it on the seemingly broken thermastat. Upon tripping the circuit it unlocked the door to his cell. A much needed blast of cool air rushed into his prison. The four cops ran over to inspect AP to make sure all was fine.
Officer AgentDrake asked Anonymous Prodigy if he had got a visual of the person involved in his capture. No, the person caught me off guard on my way home one evening and threw a bag over my head, AP said. AP told the cops all he could remember before waking up here was a sharp pain in his back then a violent knock on the head. DainIronfoot asked him if he could check his back for any markings. AP lefted his shirt up and to no surprise another tattoo was discovered. R we having fun yet?.
The cops searched the room for evidence and lead AP to the hospital.
Finally another cop has shown they have what it takes to save a life. I wouldn’t celebrate for long seeing as a killer is still at large . My clue is in the making and will be to you as soon as all is set up. You will be surprised how easy people are influenced when facing the barrel of a gun . |

I have been watching lem0nhead slip back into his old ways so I decided to pay him another visit, but this time to do my dirty work for me. Little did he know that today he would not be my victim but rather my personal hitman
I confronted lem0nhead in a dark alley on his way home from work. I was dressed in all black with a mask covering my face. I offered him a proposition, kill a cop for me or die. I handed him the empty gun and told him that the bullets were hidden for him when he got to where he needed to be. I turned around and walked away without a care.
The next morning as the cops were reporting for duty lem0nhead entered the station. Officer AgentDrake turned to him and asked him if he had any leads in the assassin case. lem0nhead replied without a word, but instead reached into his coat and pulled out the gun. "I must do something if I want to live", he shouted.
lem0nhead is looking for the bullets that I have planted for him you have 48 hours to uncover them or I will relay a message to him of their resting place. Here is a clue to help you locate them.
6+7=?
1+0=?
11+9=?
4+4=?
Solve that and you will find the bullets, fail and lem0nhead gets to decide which cop’s life he ends. |
