Srry, guys. I’m going to be busier than I thought for a few days, and might not be able to help much for a little while. 
I really don’t think it’s children, but to be honest, I haven’t got anything better at the moment, and not much opportunity to look for anything else. |

Time has run out for Shieldmaiden .
Shieldmaiden was sitting in her cell franticially watching the clock tick away towrds her death. Suddenly the voice of SOP came over the PA system.
"Shieldmaiden the answer is children."
She walked over to the keypad by the door which lead to her freedom and punched in the letters spelling children. A dreadful sound rang out as the door’s lock sealed up forever. Seconds later a voice came over the PA sytem again.
"It appears your cops have let you down the time you needed them most. I don’t think you would have ever changed your ways anyway and for that you will pay the ultimate price. That price will be your life Shieldmaiden."
Moments later an odorless gas filled the room and Shieldmaiden fell dead to the ground.
That will teach the cops to guess at my clues and even worse take advice from someone outside the police department .
Here is the answer to my game.
By adding one new letter to each new word you would get the answer. I added the red underscores as a hint to where the new letter was to be added in each new word, but seeing as noone even tried at this game you never had a chance anyway.
one is one
I = One letter, the Roman Number I is one
and two is two
DI = Two letters, the prefix di is for two
then three’s an end
DIE = Three letters, death is an end to life
jump for four
DIVE = Four letters, to dive is to jump
because it goes into five, that is to say…
DIVIE = Five letters, div, i.e. div for division (goes in to) and i.e. is Latin for that is to say.
so we can split for six
DIVIDE = Six letters, divide means to split
since seven’s split
DIVIDED = Seven letters, past tense of divide
so eight would be?
DIVIDEND
Dividend is a word for money, wealth etc.... Most people tend to think life is about how wealthy you are or how much money you have. Most people think that can’t live without this.
