Here's the thing. Standard banned the cards from sets 1-6 for a reason. It cut out most of the broken combinations that are available in Expanded.
Personally, I like the cards in sets 1-6 more than 11-19, so I play Movie Block. But if you are playing on GCCG, nearly no one plays Expanded due to the probability of broken combinations.
If you say you will play Expanded without any "broken" combinations, good for you. But you will also lose 80% of your games if you are playing against someone who does have such a combination.
That said, stick to Movie or Standard. That is what most players play and that is where you will find the best competition.
