This place, more than perhaps any other, has managed to exemplify its name. For decades now it has stood as the final sanctuary for the community surrounding the LOTR-TCG.
But as with all things, it is time for it to pass into the West.
There are several reasons for this. The software is rotting underneath our feet; various bugs and permissions issues have plagued me ever since taking over the forum from Kralik, and with this recent PHP2Shell issue that would require we move several major PHP versions forward to a point that this board software doesn't even support....and even if we did, it would be for the bare handful of posts that come in per year. It's just time to let it go.
TLHH had an epic run, not just from a perspective of this game, but from a perspective of any internet community. From fresh beginnings in 2008 where Kralik just wanted to have a place to rescue files from the dying Decipher website, to the breakdown of CobraCards and the migration from there to here, all the way to his passing of the torch in 2021 to the Player's Council, to now. 18 years is an eternity in internet time, downright Elven.
TLHH and CC will have a permanent static version of these forums presented on PC servers. They will not operate the forum software, just be an archive the same way the Wayback Machine is an archive. This dodges the software rot and security issues, and permanently entombs them in never-changing static HTML.

https://cc.lotrtcgpc.net, but all old links should still work and automatically forward to those locations. The wiki on the other hand has long since been migrated to
https://wiki.lotrtcgpc.net, and the old wiki will now unilaterally redirect to that new version.
Previously we unlocked the Council of Cobra, Valinor, League Play, and Straight Road subforums. As part of this archival process, I am also unlocking the White Council and Dead Pile subforums, so that as much history as possible can be preserved. A full copy of the old site will be kept in cold storage, available to dig into if there are emergencies or other reason to dig through the forum software or database, but this will not be exposed to the public.
It's been an honor watching over this place, and may we watch over it for many years to come.
