Olorin vs Elrohir

Um...okay. It seems that these two have been going at each other's throat trying to seize control of the Austrian format.

Perhaps my polls were not a good idea.

Anyways. It seems like these people want to vote everything the way they want, and Olorin, creator of the format, opposes it. Elrohir wants to turn Austrian into a house format, Olorin doesn't think the opinion of anyone on here matters since he created the format and pretty much the whole Austrian format board is getting a bit out of hand.

IMO the lock of Frenzy of Arrows was unwarranted. Olorin was a bit reactive, but Elrohir was civil.

I'm sorry, but "Austrian Format" is NOT a format. So it's a House format as much as any other, and if Olorin seems unreasonable to discussion, wanting to set his foot down as creator of the format, then I strongly suggest REPLACING the Austrian Format Forum with the TLHH House Rules Forum, otherwise, every user will start wanting a whole forum for "their" pet format.

FM, yes, it's a house format. However, GE asked specifically for it (and Poorman's) to be added and I think it's a creative idea. Let's get more people playing!

As I posted on the Frenzy thread, if you wanted a thread for a house format, then you should create a thread for a house format, if not, it was going way downhill way fast. The whole thread was trolling to begin with, posting a thread like that fresh off the Namarie discussion was asking for trouble and it seems like Olorin and Elrohir are more than willing to go at it given the opportunity. That's the main reason I locked the thread.

If you still want me to, lmk and I'll re-open it, but I'm of the opinion it should stay locked.

I just read through that stuff for the first time, and frankly, I don't understand why it was locked. Maybe that's just me...?

I'm getting a headache looking at it from an organizational perspective. Maybe a deck design forum isn't even the best place to discuss changes, especially if it becomes overrun with polls and the like, and branches out to fixes of cards and formats in general.

Regardless, my gut feeling is that mixing the official format and any community-created variants together in one forum is asking for trouble. Olorin can modify his own format at any time and in whatever way he wants. A variant may be based on the Austrian format, but at the end of the day it's a TLHH format. It has nothing to do with him.
