Why isn't Knight of Dol Amroth just Damage +1?

Is it so that he isn't affected by losing damage bonuses?

There is a slightly difference. Kinght of Dol Amroth has the choice to wound a minion he was skirmishing. Furthermore, he can just wound one minion, wheras damage +1 wound additional each minion in the skirmish.

Ah! Of course!

I never thought of Knight of Dol Amroth as a guy who could beat two+ minions in a skirmish!
