I would go for the Flame of the West, especially for his ability to play sites when you are not in front.

Anduril, Flame of the West is a great card. But you can't couple that with other weapons, such as Gondor Bow.

The easiest way to win skirmishes against those Balrogs and Trolls and Sauron that everyone seems to have is with a combination of Fourth Level and Gondor Bow.

Hearts Raised clears out a threat I might add with a Knight's Spear. I would probably just remove one of the Knight's Spear cards for Anduril or Ranger's Sword. I like the damage+1 aspect of Ranger's Sword and Anduril, Flame of the West. But Anduril, Flame of the West would be a tough foil to come across. I can get an Anduril, King's Blade foil easily.

Flame of the West, obvious. If you play Knights, there are enough guys who can level/bow to death. YOu want to play your site 6 if you need to double. besides, making aragorn 11/dmg+1 is quite nice vs the small cronies next to WK/Balrog/Desert Lord with Seasoned Leader and Mumak.

Well, I suppose I should add a foil Anduril, Flame of the West to my "Wanted" list. I have a foil Anduril, King's Blade...I just kind of hate the idea of paying 3 twilight to maybe be defender +1. And no damage bonus? That card doesn't make too much sense, from a cost perspective.

Ha...kind of the same thing. I like the guaranteed Defender +1 and all...I guess I would rather exert with a card like Banner of the White Tree. Good point though. I forgot that card existed.

Flame of the West gives dmg +1 and the site ability is infinite better than the maybe defender +1.

Agreed. But why should I even have the Aragorn-specific weapon in here? Why can't I just arm him with a Knight's Spear and be done with it?

And you know, for the 2 twilight difference, my sites 3 and 6 are not ridiculously important. And with Ranger's Sword, I still get the damage bonus.

Site can make all the difference. Movieblock site 6...when moving, heal each gondorcomp, or wound each comp...can be the difference in winning or losing,,,,

3x sixth level
4x fourth level
4x gondor bow
3x banner of westernesse
2-3x fifth level
2x citadel of the stars
1-2x stone tower

this is, to my mind, the best basic to run knights in movie.

start isildur+atar, turgon, alcarin.

then cut coat of mail! knights are strong enough.
if i were you i would think about footman's armor (life injurance), men of numenor, faramir, sod, catapult  :uh-huh: and elendil, the tall

catapult

Thanks for your thoughts, King. I have two copies of Catapult in there as it is. I love that card.

I am not so much a fan of Fifth Level. One Saruman's Powers and everything is gone. And Turgon is not really that great unless you double-move as all of the fortifications are transferred in the Skirmish phase.

I like Faramir, Defender of Osgiliath for that last-ditch double move when it doesn't hurt to have two companions (or at least another 7-3 companion). Maybe a fourth copy of Gondor Bow and Fourth Level would be nice, but I want to keep this deck trim and fit. A 64 card deck with two Sixth Levels can usually get back anything that I want.

Banner of Westernesse might be a better call than Knight's Spear, but I'll take the extra strength bonus over the healing because I seem to face a ton of Witch-King, Lord of the Nazgul riding Fell Beast, Easterling Army with Easterling Polearm, etc.

That is a bit of my rationale behind the deck. Oh yeah, and the one copy of Coat of Mail is for Garrison of Gondor in case of a heavy swarm with a Troll or Balrog. Always nice to keep around.

All good suggestions. The only one I take issue with is your choice of Elendil. Why not go High-king of Gondor? Seems to be much more useful in such a knight-heavy deck, and he boosts Isildur's resistance and gets his own strength boosted by Isildur in return. Not like you're going to be using The Tall's abilities much....

Anyway, can't hurt to toss one Elendil in there. He's worth it for his high vitality (and exerting potential) if nothing else.

For similar reasons, add one more vote for Flame of the West. Yes, it hurts little to not be able to give Gorn a bow, but with the extra vitality and damage it provides, it's more than worth it here.

Well, in this particular deck I run Minas Tirith Sixth Circle. But there is good enough healing with Aragorn, Captain of Gondor that I don't mind flooding the twilight pool after skipping the sanctuary.

And I run Base of Mondullin as my site 3. But Hall of the Kings is just as good (in a different way) and the only one that really doesn't help me at all is The Dimholt.
