You know, I've always considered My Axe Is Notched and Final Count to be pretty worthless...but here's a question.

They are very good in token collecting Towers Block decks with Aragorn, Defender of Free Peoples and other token cards like Agility. Except against wargs! At least no Saruman's Power in TTT to instakill your conditions.

because not every version of frodo can be the rb

Quote from: CRD 8/13/07 Page 3, Middle Column, [card=13149]Frodo FF[/card]
This version of Frodo cannot become the
Ring-bearer.

lol, it is usually in the best interest of the game to have a rulebook that doesn't contradict itself.

dude, the comprehensive rulebook 4.0 came out in May 2004; Bloodlines, and therefore Frodo FF did not release until August 12 2005. it's pretty easy to think that they hadn't exactly finalized that card yet, don't ya think?

that's the point of CRD's - to keep game rules and clarifications current between comprehensive documents.

wait, the ringed symbol around their resistance means they are ring-bound?  That can't be true because frodo ff is ring-bound without that symbol.  The ring around the rosie means they can be a ring bearer.

The ring means that they can be the ring bearer. If they are played as the ring bearer, then by definition, they are ring bound.

As of Reflections, any card which you are using as your Ring-bearer always has the keywords "Ring-bound" and "Ring-bearer", even if such keywords are not written on the card. The ringed resistance just indicates that that companion has the option of being your Ring-bearer - it doesn't confer these keywords as such.

That is what I thought it meant.

So, getting back to notched axe and final count, has anyone used them with the hunter lego and gimli?  how did it fair?

This deck always comes back to having Aragorn, Defender of Free Peoples.
The token stuff could use Strands of Elven Hair and Trust (and ring of barahir, off course)
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that i'm right...
