I can see the case for Sting and Glamdring to be swapped or for them to just BOTH be X-ed, because yes, Glamdring is more powerful simply because of the lack of a cap.

That being said, I ALSO see the argument that, in most cases, you'd be far more likely to choose exerting Frodo, who shouldn't need his vitality if all is going well anyway, than to choose to exert Gandalf, who WILL need his vitality from the fighting and other exerting effects he's likely to take part in. I think that, more than any other reason, is why Big D (who actually had a clue about what they were doing back then) chose to leave Gandalf's uncapped. In hindsight, now that the game has expanded far beyond the relatively simplistic Fellowship Block, both have a heck of a lot more power than they did then, especially Glamdring with all the healing and vitality bonuses and new tricks Gandalf now has at his disposal (SftF not the least of them).

And with THAT all being said, I still would vote for removing Sting from the X-list and leaving Glamdring out there as well. One other thing the expansion of the game brought is a lot of variety in those two weapons as well. I'll take BotEL of Elven Long Knife any day over the original Sting, and give me Lightning Brand or Foe-hammer over Glamdring any time. Why? Because I don't know whether I'll have any Orcs to ever counter, whereas I have much more control over the effects and power of those other versions myself. If someone wants to take the chance of having a useless Sting and/or Glamdring, even in Movie Block, I say more power to them.
Best regards,
Dáin

You are still exerting to look at your opponent's hand. I think that's far from useless.

Fair enough. There's combo potential there, certainly, but in Movie Block, at least, I still don't see why that should lead to an X.
