I Am This Bored
« on: October 13, 2009, 09:11:17 am »
I am bringing back signets because I like them. So resistance isn't a big deal except to Ring-Bearers.

[4] •League of Hobbit Archers [Shire]
Companion • Hobbit
Strength 6, Vitality 3
Archer.
Archery: Exert this companion at a dwelling to exert a minion.

[1] Hobbit Bow [Shire]
Possession • Ranged Weapon
Bearer Must Be a Hobbit.
Archery: Discard a [Shire] condition to wound a minion.

[1] •Pippin, Thain of the Fourth Age [Shire]
Companion • Hobbit
Strength 3, Vitality 4, Signet Frodo
Maneuver: If a maneuver event or special action is played, exert a Hobbit to prevent that.

[1] •Merry, General of Halflings [Shire]
Companion • Hobbit
Strength 3, Vitality 4, Signet Frodo
Skirmish: While Merry bears a possession, exert him to make a Hobbit strength +2.

[1] •Horn of the Mark, Gift to Merriadoc [Rohan]
Possession • Horn
Strength +1
Bearer must be Merry.
Each Hobbit gains Toil 1.
Regroup: Discard this possession to liberate a site.

[2] •Sam, Mayor of the Shire [Shire]
Companion • Hobbit
Strength 3, Vitality 4, Signet Frodo
Each Hobbit is strength +1.
Response: If Frodo dies, make Sam the Ring-Bearer (resistance 5).

[1] •Battle of Bywater [Shire]
Condition • Support Area
Regroup: Spot Frodo and exert a character with the Frodo signet to heal another companion.

I guess that's it for now. Maybe I'll make more soon. I just wanted to make the elusive Hobbit Archer!

I think it should be exert - so like a take on A Dragon's Tale.

[1] •Pippin, Thain of the Fourth Age [Shire]
Companion • Hobbit
Strength 3, Vitality 4, Signet Frodo
Maneuver: If a maneuver event or special action is played, exert a Hobbit to prevent that.
That should be response, but otherwise okay.

[1] •Merry, General of Halflings [Shire]
Companion • Hobbit
Strength 3, Vitality 4, Signet Frodo
Skirmish: While Merry bears a possession, exert him to make a Hobbit strength +2.
Yeah, he's okay.

[2] •Sam, Mayor of the Shire [Shire]
Companion • Hobbit
Strength 3, Vitality 4, Signet Frodo
Each Hobbit is strength +1.
Response: If Frodo dies, make Sam the Ring-Bearer (resistance 5).
I would make it "Each other Hobbit". And don't you have some issues about a Sam who is from the Fourth Age bearing The One Ring?

[1] •Battle of Bywater [Shire]
Condition • Support Area
Regroup: Spot Frodo and exert a character with the Frodo signet to heal another companion.
Meh. For a post in which you claim to bring back signets, as the only card that even mentions them this is pretty unexciting! ;) Make some signet cards!

Well, Frodo/others are soon coming. I just can't sit here long enough to make these long posts...

Edit: Plus, as cool as signets were in the first few sets, there really aren't many cards that play off of them...and most of the ones that do aren't very exciting. So it is hard to come up with something new and cool and amazing. Here's a teaser:

[2] •Frodo, Hobbit of Legend [Shire]
Companion • Hobbit
Strength 3, Vitality 4, Signet Frodo
Ring-Bearer. (Resistance 10).
Each Hobbit with the Frodo signet is strength +1.
Maneuver or Skirmish: Exert Frodo to heal another companion with the Frodo signet.

[3] •Memories of Great Wars [Shire]
Condition • Support Area
Fellowship: Play a companion (except a Hobbit) with the Frodo signet. That companion's twilight cost is -2.

I really think Merry, Pippin, and Sam could be a lot more exciting, especially since this is at the end of the story. "Thain of the Shire" and "General of Halflings" just don't seem fitting to their currant texts.

Frodo should be (0) twilight, he's always RB.
No one loves you like I do.

I'm imploring people I've never met to pressure a government with better things to do to punish a man who meant no harm for something nobody even saw, thats what I'm doing!

I wanted to give people the option of making him, well, not the Ring-Bearer but I don't know how to do that without giving him Ringed Resistance (and thus he doesn't have the Frodo signet).

I really think Merry, Pippin, and Sam could be a lot more exciting, especially since this is at the end of the story. "Thain of the Shire" and "General of Halflings" just don't seem fitting to their currant texts.
Well, I wanted to make a Scouring of the Shire series of Hobbits where they get more powerful the more of them were around. Well, first thing you need then is shotgun Enquea, etc., protection. Pippin was the less brave one, so he doesn't get a fighter bonus. That was my rationale on that. Sure, the titles are from the fourth age, but whatever. Again. Bored. And Lazy.
