MR. Lurtzy
« on: February 12, 2010, 06:40:15 am »
Well, personally, I've had it with this guy. He's a jerk most of the time, just for the sake of being so. he's not polite, he stirs up discussions by being blunt in the Rules Forums (in which, btw, he's NOT a Rules Guru to have final word on any discussion), and just now I saw a post by him on the XLIV Topic at the Council of Cobra.
I edited ket_the_jet's post, toning down his language a bit on his rant about Brett Favre, removing the bit he said he wished death upon him (and later saying he was being ironic, which I still think is too much, spaced apart as it was). Because of that, I edited Lurtzy's quote, removing said part. He edited his post, for everyone to see, and posted as "reason for edit": "Don't edit my posts, Felipe".

Well, I POSTED (you'll see why, I directed it towards everybody) this:

"@MR. Lurtzy (but serves everyone else, hence, not sending it in PM form, but posting it here):

I edited your post because I edited the post it quoted, removing the over-offensive language and/or expressions Kralik does not allow on his site, filters or no filters. And I'll edit any such posts as I see fit, as long as Kralik and Dain keep me as a moderator, since it's basically my job to do so. If you don't like it, you can go discuss it with them."

However, I think his long warranted suspension might be overdue, so I'm formally requesting a 3-day ban on his account (if it's possible to do so) so he'll stop being a jerk and pestering moderators for doing their job.

Lurtzy has always been outspoken, controversial and on occassion a bit of a tool. But hes also been a consistent member of the forum and has contributed to the LOTR community on TLHH.

Going against mods is foolish and pointless though. I dont know if a bans in order but I can understand your frustration with him though FM.

When he first joined CC I couldn't stand the guy. I dunno I guess I just got used to him and make allowances for him, he's ok now.

I doubt we can justify banning someone for being a jerk, unless he is flaming incessantly.

Since when is this board someplace where things need to be justified :P
honestly, I don't care either way...but I think ticking him off with a ban and getting him to possibly leave ( since I kinda doubt he has much in the way of ...what word am I looked for here...self control-ish?)  isn't worth it.  I would just tell him to try to be a little more soothing with his replies.  But whatev ;)

Enola just reported yet ANOTHER post by said user. He posted about the French Nationals, which SHOULD be praised as an attempt to keep the game you all love alive, and the response about the X-List was "The link doesn't work, but knowing you, it should be pathetic."
Personally, I've had it. I adressed the issue of his general rudeness on more than one occasion, I'm personally reporting him to the Administrators and suggesting a 1-month ban AT LEAST again, but this is the last time. I'd rather step down as moderator as to have a jerk and jackass like that ruining the site that is trying to keep LotR TCG alive against all odds. The site is fine without him now, we've got A LOT of active users. Anyway, this is my personal opinion.

I know we're picking a new ad hoc admin, but what about this issue right here?

I would suggest sending a PM and then waiting until the next offense. And even then - a read-only ban should be sufficient.
