Discussion #18:

With Sting of Shelob, can the companion being returned to hand take threat wounds from the other companion being placed in the dead pile?  (previous discussion)

Option 1:
Yes. Since the first companion is placed in the dead pile first, threat wounds trigger, and may be taken by the other companion that was chosen to be returned to hand.

Option 2:
No. The companion that is going to be returned to hand is not eligible to take the treat wounds because it may prevent him or her from being returned to hand.

Have to agree with ES on this one. As soon as the companion is placed in the dead pile, threats trigger (mandatory response), then the other companion is returned to hand. Option 1.

Although I'm sure of intent, nothing in the rules allows for anything other than option 1
