Started up this thread for any comments/concerns about the post rating system.

I've got one regarding Presti70: I was surprised to see how a new member here could already have -1 gold, and it looks like the reason is his incorrect response here. On one hand you could argue this is the rating system working as it should, but on the other hand, it feels kind of unnecessary to rub it in. I'm just glad other folks haven't piled on.

Does this concern anyone else? I figure I'd only thumbs up a post or just leave it be (anything really bad requires modding more than a thumbs down, anyway).

Perhaps a post explaining that simple mistakes don't warrant a thumbs down. Blatant stupidity or unhelpful posts do.

You can always bump it back up if you disagree. But yes, the intention is  for helpful posts, for stupid ones.

When I have a chance I can also program in a way to see who rated each post.

And how about a way to limit the number of ratings for a given user? Meaning, I can only thumbs up or thumbs down a single post once? And, while were at it, a time frame to do so? It would require some organization from us, but, for instace, you could let we rate posts only in a given time frame after it goes up (1-2 days at most), perhaps except for the ones in the Rules section or Lothlorien?

This is already the case. I'm not sure about the other stuff.

Hm, I was thinking bumping it back up might be confusing (if it comes to being able to see who rated each post which way), as I wasn't actually supporting that statement. Thanks though to whoever chipped in.

Just a thought--should a deduction in gold require more than one (net?) thumbs down? By now I've noticed thumbs down for a mistake, for posting a Horn/NC deck, and for cumulative stupidity, so people seem to have different ideas about how to use it. This way each person can his point across, for his own reason, without an actual deduction being too arbitrary.

Is there a way of filtering which posts from a user has received/lost gold? Saves some trouble looking through my recent posts to see what it was I said, and from the mod end, I'd like to check if it's being used fairly (in my opinion) for some other people.
