Despite the complaints that there are too many mods, if most are not active it doesn't help much when moderation is actually needed. Out of this whole forum there are only a few boards that I frequent, so I leave the actual moderation mostly up to you fine fellows. Do you think there'd be too much of a public outcry if we ditched per-board mod status and made all mods universal? (SoP and NBarden, I trust you wouldn't abuse your powers ;)). Dain?
That seems like a reasonably sensible suggestion - after all, each of us have the boards which we frequent anyway.

I'm generally unbothered by this issue, but I think I'd be more in favour of this than reshuffling responsibilities. Plus this way, I get more POWER!

I guess then there would be nothing special with being the exclusive MtG moderator.

Hmmm. Let me chew on this for a little while. That would be a LOT of universal mods, but that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. Let me think on that.... :-k

As I've said before a lot of times, I'll gladly step down if the Admins think we have too many mods/global mods. With this in mind, I STILL openly state that we DO have too many mods right now, but being divided kind of evens it out. Otherwise, I think we will end up having an unnecessarily huge number of them. But that's just my opinion.

I realise the irony in asking for some mod adjustment when about 6 months ago I was the one saying we had too many!

Not really Jordy its very simple, we have too many mods and not enough active ones.

It seems weird for felipe to suggest stepping down, hes at least on often enough to contribute to this discussion unlike many others.

As Kralik says, Bib for example, doesnt need to be a mod with his level of activity, rules god he may be and i understand he used to be a mod but people are different on tlhh than cc. Sorry if bib is reading this thinking im picking on him but the same could be said for others. And its just an illustration.

Thran/ES/Jordy/Me/FM are the only ones i see regularly every day. Im sure SoP as well but he comes on at different times.

The forum hardly needs modding much (at all really) but should the situation arise, only one of the above is global.

So i guess its down to you FM to rule the roost, so no point offering your resignation!

Well stated lem0n. I'll wait to hear from Dain, but you've summed up my thoughts exactly. :)

Ya, sorry for not being very active, but there's been this problem called "life" that has been sucking up most of my free time.

I don't know if I can forgive you for having a life... that's just going TOO far.

I agree that Bib isn't around enough to really be a mod anymore. I was hopeful he would be, but that has not turned out to the case at all. Too bad. :-S

I don't agree with demoting EL, though. The poor boy is just busy right now, but you know he'll be back around, especially once I finally get Realms going again (this weekend, I hope). Ditto with Drake, FYI.

Yes, I know making the rest essentially global mods will create a buttload of moderators, but that's my fault, not theirs. Unless anyone volunteers to step down (you don't count, FM! :P), I don't think it would be fair to dock them for doing nothing wrong. If anyone goes inactive to the degree of Bib, then that's a different story, but I don't think anyone else is close to that right now...and yes, that includes EL and Drake.

So, in a nutshell: I'm cool with this, as long as Bib is (currently, at least) the only casualty.
Best regards,
Dáin

I only suggested EL because he's the mod of only one forum. Nothing personal! :P

I wonder also if we do this if there is any reason to announce it.

I don't see a particular need to announce it, but I don't have any problem if we do, either.

One thing: are we changing them all to universal (blue) mods, or changing the properties of the board (green) mods? Just curious....
Best regards,
Dáin
