@TJ: Haha... I only wish.

To be entirely honest, really, now that we know how our community turned out to be, what I'd suggest is to announce a disbading of ALL mods, and then the Admins would reinstate or nominate whoever they see fit for whatever task, thus avoiding "shooting some mods down" and also solving the problem of having a moderator for a single, tiny board. I say this could be announced on a friday and the decisions made during the weekend, so as of monday TLHH would have a new Moderator Roster with a more appropriate number of mods (which should be 1 for MtG, 1 for SW, 1 for FK, possibly 2-3 for Lotr, 1 for the Council (just to have a mod to assign to the area, I still think everyone being able to moderate it helps quite a lot), 1-2 Global Mods (to be honest, with 2 Admins around, I don't think we'd need more than one, but it just so happens that me and M64 are active on very different hours, and that can help quite a bit since if only 1 of us was around, we'd have a big gap with no Global mod around) and the Admins. Also, a single Moderator could deal with a lot of stuff, like NBarden could EASILY moderate Council and MtG, no sweat there. TheJord could take care of FK and LotR, perhaps even SW. So on, so forth.
And as I said before, the reason I volunteer to step down is because I'm the one actually suggesting we axe most of our own mod staff, so I guess it's only fair for me to volunteer my neck first, right? ;)

Um...well. I think that a modified version of the plan would be best. I like the idea of disbanding and rebuilding, but I also think that all mods then selected should be general moderators.

Which also works. Given 2 Admins, I actually think 3 Global Moderators would be more than enough for the site to keep on rolling, although I still think that the Archives section should have it's own, dedicated moderator. Other than this, whatever works best for the bosses! ^^

Kralik and I have discussed it, and for now, think we should run with the following global mods:

Felipe Musco
Thranduil
TheJord
Elessar's Socks
sickofpalantirs

Basically, we'd just be dropping (for now, at least) those mods that have become busy, MIA, or announced their departure, and making the rest global. We wanted to run this by you all first, though.
Best regards,
Dáin

Sorry buddy, but I was counting you among those that are busy, even though you technically aren't quite there yet.

If it were up to me, I'd keep everyone right where they are. But if we're going to scale back, there are tough choices to make. :-S

I personally don't see the need, although I DO think someone should step in in place of M64, for now.

I don't really have any opinions on this, but I'm not going to complain with all that POWER I seem to be getting!

Well, I think the only thing I really had mod power over was the RPG forum, and, well... despite (for the most part) sheer lack of interest by many members, and the fact that heck... I haven't been around enough to keep it going... it doesn't matter to me if I'm not a mod anymore. It'd make sense.

yeah the problem is simply...we are moving on.  D moved on, and we are slowly doing it.  There are lots of good memories, but quite frankly we have more important things to do with our lives.  Not that this isn't important ;)

Sadly, I think you're right. I'm hoping the upcoming Hobbit films might respark interest (and maybe, dare I hope, a full revival), but how many will be left by then?

Ah well. I'll beat the DC horse, at least, until it is well and truly dead. Will you at least be reviewing those DCs, my palantir-loathing friend? We miss you in the Chamber. You're a DC reviewing legend, man! 8)
