That's because they weren't hobbits. A dwarf must have boinked an elf.

I figure when I retire in 30 years I'll need something to read.

30 Years? Life is too short to wait that long. The books are where it's at. Indulge now.
Grrrrrrrr

Argh, someone needs to lock this most horrible of horrendous threads that has gone well off topic into the category "should never have happened".

Just be glad an Ent didn't boink Saruman, especially when they were roused.

...I really, really should've found another passage.

Fine, On topic. Fotr as a book blew. Film is ace cos it made tolkiens efforts come to life in an interesting way. Reasons? They cut Tom Boringdildo and the 200 pages of descriptions of trees and mountains. God that was dull. Storyline was ace but some pages just rambled on and on and on.... and on.... and some more...

And the songs. O gees dont get me started. When i see centred italics in tolkien i skip it cos its gonna be some stupid rhyme or other about shrubs or elves.

:o not sure what I can deal more or better. Pure blasphemy or spamming ....Let me say that I can imagine that the overly done detailling can be dull, but I think it has added something as well. The whole story has got more 'body' I think, because of all the details.....
